Question: Why is a book showing as Not Reservable?

When you click into a book record after finding it on the Catalogue you may see a greyed out "Not Reservable" button on the right hand-side, as in the image below.

Greyed out "Not Reservable" button which cannot be clicked on, with a green "Save" button next to it which can be clicked on.

The main reason a book will be non-reservable is that there are copies available in the library.

If you scroll down this page you will see the individual copies and under the "status" column, you can see how many are "available".

A list of available copies in the catalogue record for a specific book. List shows book details and the due date for books that are not available.

We can not put aside available books for students as the library operates on a first come first served basis, so you need to come to the library and pick up the book.

If all copies of a book are on loan, the "Not Reservable" button would change to a green "Reserve this Item" button. If you click on this button and enter your information, we will know that you are waiting for a copy of this book. As copies are returned, one will be put aside for you. You will then receive an email to tell you that the book is ready for you to collect.
