Question: What does Main Lending mean?

Main Lending books can be checked out and taken home by students and staff. Most books in the library are Main Lending.

Other library books may be Reference books. These can not be checked out and can not leave the library but instead can be read while in the library.

When you find a book in the Catalogue all individual copies of the book will be listed below it, as in the screengrab below. You can see if the book is Main Lending under the "Loan type" heading.

The other important thing to note is the book's "Status", for example in the image below all copies are "Available" and so are on the shelf and available to be loaned.
