Clearing your cache can solve many problems particularly around login difficulties as often browsers can store old incorrect passwords. It may also help in these cases to clear your cookies but clearing your browser history is not usually necessary.
On Google Chrome press Ctrl+h on your keyboard and your browser history will open, then choose clear browsing data and you will get the box as in the image below, choose the same options as in the image (make sure and set "All time" as the time range). For other browsers just google how to clear the cache on that particular browser.
