If you are browsing through Wikipedia, Google Scholar, or ResearchGate, and would like to know whether an item referenced there is available through the library, there is a browser extension you can use called EBSCOhost Passport. When in use, EBSCOhost Passport will mark items on other websites which are available in NCI Library with an "E" icon, as pictured:
To install this extension on Google Chrome, complete the following steps:
1. Open Google Chrome and click on the 3 vertical dots in the top right of the screen.
2. Select Extensions from the drop-down menu, then Visit Chrome Web Store.
3. Type "ebscohost passport" into the search box shown and click on the result, EBSCOhost Passport, which appears.
4. Click the blue Add to Chrome button.
5. Select Add extension on the popup window which appears.
6. In the search box, enter "National College of Ireland" and select the top result, which should be for NCI.
7. Click on the jigsaw icon to the right of the star at the top right of the screen, and when a dropdown list of extensions appears, click on the pin icon next to EBSCOhost Passport which will then appear blue and crossed out.
8. An E icon will now be added to your toolbar, as shown. This means that you are all set up to use the EBSCOhost Passport!
