Question: What does meta-analysis mean?
 

Meta-analysis, in the context of journal articles, are articles or works which analyse previous research carried out in a particular field. This means there is not new data or research carried out but instead conclusions and trends are drawn by looking at and comparing other academics' previous research on a topic. 

Review articles are another common name for work of this kind.
